Fiorella and Cam didn’t just plan a wedding day, they planned an incredible wedding week (with the help of local planner Jimena Palacios) that left guests with lifelong memories and unique cultural experiences. El Salvador is a tropical paradise, offering incredible hospitality and many scenic backdrops for a wedding. From Volcano Hikes and Pupusa Parties, to pool hangs and mariachi bands, this wedding at Hotel Cardedeu was a photographer’s dream.

Tucked into the cliffs above Lake Coatepeque, Hotel Cardedeu is one of those rare venues that feels like a scene pulled from a dream. The lake itself is actually a volcanic crater with deep turquoise water that shifts in color depending on the light. There’s something ancient and powerful about it and Hotel Cardedeu was built to frame that view. The architecture is modern and minimal, with clean lines and open spaces that invite in the horizon. It’s an incredible setting for a wedding: intimate, yet cinematic. Ceremonies can take place overlooking the water, with the lake as a kind of living backdrop, and as the sun sets, the whole place feels bathed in gold. It’s the kind of space that holds emotion beautifully. For couples looking for a destination that’s both soulful and design-forward, Cardedeu offers a rare balance of raw natural beauty and refined simplicity; and for me as a photographer, it’s an absolute dream to shoot there.

Fiorella rented a lakeside villa down the road for her getting ready and portraits.

DUE TO THE COUPLE'S LOVE FOR ANALOG FILM, THIS WEDDING WAS SHOT ON A MIX OF DIGITAL AND 35MM FILM.
