Adventure at Bridal Veil Falls, Manitoulin Island

It's worth driving 6 hours for this waterfall. Bridal Veil is what I imagine all those magic waterfalls in Hawaii must be like - the kinds you can swim right under and pretend to be a mermaid for a little while. When we got to this location the sun had already set. I knew that I wouldn't be able to get any clean portraits because the light was so patchy and dark. So I decided to simply focus on all that good, powerful energy the waterfall gave us, and work with the darkness - not against it.  This turned out to be one of my favourite sessions. Not to mention we had the entire place to ourselves (probably because we are the only crazy people willing to go here in the dark!).

Thank you Shannon and Evan, for such an incredible shoot and for trusting me with this one!

Sara-Kate and Matt: A cozy cottage engagement session at South Pond Farms

At South Pond Farms in Kawartha Lakes sits the coziest, cutest tiny cottage I've ever set my eyes on. I remember when I first saw it I immediately wanted to live there. Although I probably can't settle into this cozy nook for the rest of my life, I did have the pleasure of photographing my couple Sara-Kate & Matt inside it. We played on the bed, made some coffee & ran around the beautiful woods outside while feeling the snow fall on our skin. It was the perfect day. I can't wait to photograph your woodsy wedding, SK & Matt!

A big thank you to South Pond Farms, who hosts the the prettiest weddings. I can't wait to come back to this venue this year to shoot two of them!

Niki + Jordan: Elegant Barn Wedding in Lynden, Ontario

Niki + Jordan's wedding was one of the most emotional, artistic and joyful days I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of. It was held at a family friend's barn in Lynden, Ontario and there was enough fog to make it look a little like England. There are so many little stories I can share about these two lovely humans and the journey that brought them here. I could start with the fact that Niki is an artist and Jordan is an entrepreneur. Two completely different worlds that met and fell in love at Concordia many years ago. I could tell you how Niki and Jordan chose to have silent vows during their ceremony, quietly whispering words to each other while their family and friends watched without hearing a single thing. There's another story about Niki's dress - a vintage shop find she thought she'd never wear, but to her surprise looked so beautiful on her she chose it.

I can also write paragraphs about how emotional and loving Jordan + Niki are. Just spending one day with them filled me up with so much joy I swear I'll remember it forever. I loved the way they looked at their friends through tears and said "Look at all these people, they're all here for us". I think that I'll let the images tell the story from here on, though.

Niki is a watercolour artist, and decorated all the reception tables/menus with her beautiful art work! If you'd like to see more, check it out here
